Our Legacy, a New Era, a Need to Grow
For decades, the UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine has set the world’s highest standards for veterinary medical innovation, research excellence, and compassionate patient-centered care. Today, our renowned clinicians, researchers, and educators continue to define the future of their field. For more than 25 years, the UC Veterinary Medical Center in San Diego operated as a satellite facility of UC Davis’ veterinary medical teaching hospital.
Our Southern California center has built strong collaborations with partner institutions throughout the San Diego region, and demand for its expertise and services has grown well beyond the capacity of its facility. The UC Davis Hobbs Veterinary Center is seven times larger and offers an expanded set of specialty services, while also offering emergency and critical care.
Together, these partnerships advance our shared commitment to improving animal health, educating the next generation of veterinary professionals, and delivering exceptional care to pets and the people who love them.
