Veterinary cardiologists are a small group of specialized veterinarians with interest and expertise entirely dedicated to the heart and vascular diseases—their prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Certification as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM-Cardiology) specializing in cardiology entails a minimum of an additional three years of extensive post-doctoral training in diagnostic techniques, as well as medical and interventional therapies specific to cardiac diseases. It also requires successful completion of a rigorous series of examinations administered by the ACVIM.

Our Cardiology Activities and Procedures

Our goal is to diagnose, treat and prevent cardiac diseases, by providing an advanced standard of veterinary care for the needs of our patients, clients, and the veterinary community.

What is Interventional Cardiology?

Interventional cardiology refers to a specialized field that focuses on minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat heart diseases in animals. It utilizes catheter-based techniques rather than traditional open surgery, reducing recovery times and risks for patients. A variety of cardiovascular issues can be addressed with interventional cardiology, including congenital heart defects, abnormal openings or open obstructions of the cardiovascular system, and abnormalities in heart rhythm (arrhythmias).
